What weapon to use against WoF

Hello, I feel like it has been asked a lot of time, but I'm currently doing a hardcore master mode playthroug on a (large) drunk world. I haven't defeated Skeletron, QB and Deerclops yet but it should be easy as I have the Night's Edge and Molten armor.
However, I don't know what weapon to choose against WoF. Some time ago, I did a similar playthrough but as a summoner. My strategy was to use the Hemoglobin Shark to swim in lava because in drunk worlds, the middle of the underworld is entirely filled with lava. (I couldn't try it as I died in lava because I accidentaly switched equipments :/ ) With the buff of the Obsidian armor and the Spinal Tap + the Imps, I think I would've been able to reach the WoF.
My plan was to use the Knight's Edge, but now I don't know if I'll be able to reach the wall with its short range. Any other weapon suggestions ? Btw no no Star Cannon nor Aqua Scepter I wanna go full melee.

Side note : I've never been in hardcore HM, if you have any tips that would be welcome

You should definitely beat the remaining bosses you need to in pre-hardmode before moving on to the wall of flesh, because it's high damage values and other tricks make it an extremely deadly fight, make sure you are well prepared. I recommend getting an obsidian shield to stop getting hit over and over, the eye lasers do not deal a high amount of damage but the knockback could throw you into even worse danger.

The Night's Edge is regarded as one of the best weapons for the fight, but you will need to get really close to the boss to get your damage in. With the sword's knockback you can keep the hungry away while getting piercing damage in on the actual wall, try to stay close to deal a much damage as possible, but make sure you do not get too close either, remember that the eyes have less defense than the mouth as well. Bring molten gear, full warding accessories and some knockback resistance and you should be able to outlast the constant close-range eye fire.

Whatever you do, don't try to escape when things get bad, using a recall potion or magic mirror will kill you instantly.

As the person who used every single trick in Summoner arsenal?

One most important tip for you. If it works for you, then it works. No exception. You can use any remotely good gear really, provided you know how to use it.

Just a hint though: Demonite/Crimtane armours are good hybrid sets. There's also Ninja Armour and it's upgrade in HM, called Crystal Assassin armour Then you have specialised sets for each class (Obsidian and Bee for Summoner, Molten for Melee, Meteor and Jungle for Mage and Fossil & Necro for Summoner) and one/two-piece sets (Gi for hybrid, Flinx Coat for summoner, any magic/gem robe + any magic/wizard hat for mage) that allow some hybridisation.

Night's Edge with Molten Armor and Warding modifiers on accessories is your best option. You can stand close to WoF without really worrying about the lasers. It should most likely go down before it has a chance to empty your health bar, just make sure to not get hit by contact damage. You should also build a long bridge.

Even among good/viable weapons, many of them are decidedly better than the others, and it's warranted to provide the best options that have the best performance when someone asks for gear recommendation. Especially when they are playing on Hardcore mode.

it's all about the bridge and it needs to be the longest you can get it so you can run as much as you can while fighting and has setup with heart lanterns, campfires or fireplaces, stars in bottles and maybe a Bast Statue as well. one or two can help keep the damage you take down regardless of your builds when you are near them.

Within theory most weapons can cut it, especially sunfury, magic missiles is good and the Bee Gun is just overkill with a simple mage build, like a diamond robe and a wizards hat and bam. Also use Hornet Staffs if you are a Summoner as they have faster attack speed against other pests like lava slimes which will occasionally spawn to annoy you instead of imps i reckon. although imps have better damage you don't want your summons wasting as much time with squishies and potentially missing their attacks.

Hornets with Bee armour + Bewitched + Pygmy Necklace from Witch Doctor. Otherwise Imps and Obsidian Outlaw Armour Set.
