Stardust Dragon. Went off to have lunch while sitting in my AFK healing box, came back about 20 mins later to find that while I was gone, my dragon had killed an entire pirate invasion by itself. That was a good day.
 
Wow, no love for Frost Hydra and other sentries?
I like the Deadly Spheres, not only because they look cool switching forms after every attack but they don't linger on enemies and give them I-frames, plus they tend to stick close and not run off screen to attack some random slime while I deal with a horde of werewolves.
 
I really love the spider and deadly sphere minions. I have no idea why, I just really like them.
 
Do sentries count? If they do, rainbow crystal staff. I just imagine enimies going "it's so beautiful . . . . . SPLAT."
 
my favorite summon is the twins because
1. the twins are my favorite and coolest looking boss.
2. the twins really helped me through the plantera fight and the solar eclipse
3. you don't have to farm for a million hours to get it.
