I have been playing with a few mods and I can't seem to find which mod has created this particular feature that spawns random chests throughout my world that contains hardmode loot.

Yes that's it thanks. I am using the imkusi mod for boss loot tokens and I can buy weapon swapping tokens from the goblin tinkerer and I got the sun stone and swapped it with the Picksaw... Don't need another pick for a while.
