Why do active stone blocks still exist?

Removing them would break worlds that uses them. It may cause more trouble than it currently is.
They could replace it with actuators with enough time. But they don't see it as a problem leaving them in the game.
Don't need to fix it if it's not broken.

It's because active stone blocks were introduced before actuators were a thing.
