CraftedNightmare Here!

Official Terrarian
Hey guys CraftedNightmare here!

Today, I have a story to tell you. It's about a warrior, who was cursed by the elements of shadow. Through this, he broke through the tough elements of the world, as he sets out, to clear his name. No, it isn't Samrux, it's...

Craftamus
The Warrior of Shadows
"4 am" Andrew said, as he was about to open his door to the hallway. No one was permitted to exit out of their room after dark. That was indeed one of the rules of the Inn. Andrew knew he would get caught, but he wanted to find out something. He quietly walked down the stairs, without making a sound. He quickly browsed far of the hallway, to the other side. This kept on going, until he reached to the main lobby of the Inn. No one was there. "Good" Andrew whispered to himself. He grabbed the door's knob, and as he was about to twist it, a spectre appeared behind him. "Thy needs to be in room. It is prohibited to exit thy ones doors" it said. Andrew sighed, "Ok Lightmare". Lightmare was the owner of the Inn, as he saved the NPCs from the rising of the corruption.

He walked Andrew to his room, when it hit 4:30 am. Everyone was up and about. Nissa came down the stairs, and laughed with expectations. "Oh Andrew, you tried to opened the doors again didn't you" she smiled with glee. Lightmare said "Thy open doors of a cause of curiosity. It is indeed fun, but thy needs to know control, and whom is thy boss". As Andrew walked back into his room, Lightmare was puzzled. "Strange" he said to Nissa, "Shouldn't thy Craftamus be up? He is normally thy early bird". Nissa answered "Maybe he's out to get some herbs. I don't know, I thought you were guarding". Lightmare stood there in a knightly manner, saying "Thy was guarding, but Craftamus, thy must have left while thy was walking Andrew to his room. Thy worried shall".

"I'm feeling the same way too..." said Nissa, worried what might arrive.

"CRUNCH", that was the noise when Craftamus swinged his blade at the Eater's skin and bones. Rotten Skin fell everywhere, but this wasn't what he was looking for. "Blargh, no armors? I was sure there was a hint of it in the skin" he yelled in disgust. His quest was to obtain strong, ancient shadow armor. He dreamt that he'll become as powerful as his brother. Lightmare was always the one with fame, known, popular and the most handsome. But Craftamus knew tables should turn. He ventured further, and gathered the wood from the eerie looking trees. "One day" he said to himself, "They'll see the vile side of thy Hallow".

He stumbled upon a chasm, very deep. He threw rope, and climbed down the chasm. He landed on a pile of thorns, but luckily he had platforms to step on. He wondered in the eerie ravine, being cautious of everything. He found a strange purple figure in the unreachable reaches of the ravine. He threw rope across to the cliff, so he wouldn't fall into the chasm that will sure bring death to his very eyes. He reached to the cliff, and found out what the purple figure was, but the only thing is, it wasn't a figure - It was a blade. He looked through his book of info, and found out the blade, was no ordinary blade;

It was the Night's Edge... A powerful blade, once wielded by the ancient Corrupt Ruler. "Yes!" Craftamus said, "Soon, they'll know who to look up to". But as soon as he got the blade, roars rose from the deep pit. "Oh holy thorns, I've done it". But it wasn't the worm of the Corruption. It was something far worse. But as soon Craftamus figured out it wasn't the worm, it was too late. A wraith charged into him, stripping him of his weapons. This was the way, Craftamus would die.

Many feasting later, all what was left, was the Night's Edge. But a great presence, came to exist beside the blade...

A dark hand grabbed the blade. There was only the hand, nothing else. But later, the hand grew into an arm, then a shoulder, then a body, grew legs, another arm, and a head. Craftamus returned to life, but the problem was, he was somehow, possessing powers of a wraith, a shadow spectre. "How the... heck?!" he yelled. A voice from the depths called out to Craftamus, saying "Thy has forged blade's essence. If thy worthy, becomes thy ancient warlord of thy Corruption". Craftamus was astounded. He then just realised, he is a representative of the Corruption; a Shadow Warlord. He was happy, but then he had second thoughts. "If I was shadow, this could be bad, since my brother is hallowed. He will kill me for sure, and the NPCs will think I'm some freak!" he thought.

He threw the blade down the chasm, hoping it would soon remove the curse. But the sword quickly zoomed up and landed into his sword sock. "Argh! How am I going to get rid of this?" he said. He threw his blade up into the ceiling, but instead of the sword getting stuck, the ceiling opened up, creating a chasm to where he is. "Nice" he said, "Now I have to face the music".

He exited out the dark forest, and his eyes faced blue grass. "What? I don't recall the Hallow near the Corruption" he said. He looked further, and saw that the Inn was still in tact. As he walked closer, he felt eerie presences around him. He stopped, and looked around. "Nothing, huh. Come on Craftamus, nothing to be scar...." he said, but was shortly interrupted by a blade, almost piercing him. "Woah, who did that?" he said. He heard strange words, but by a familiar voice. "So you finally turned to thy dark side, brother".

Craftamus opened his eyes, to see Lightmare, in shiny armor. "Brother?" he said. "I always knew you would devote yourself to the dark side. Unknown and unaware of the powers. I'm ashamed brother, deeply ashamed" Lightmare said, wielding the great Excalibur. Craftamus tried to step up, but Lightmare made sure Craftamus would stay down. Craftamus had a look around, to see if he could find Nissa, Andrew, or the other NPCs. But only Pixies, Unicorns, and other hallowed mobs filled the sight of his eyes. "Brother, I swear, I did not mea..." Craftamus said, but was interrupted by Lightmare's voice: "Silence! Now that this world is, once again, under civil war, I now know who's to blame. You...". He pointed at Craftamus, with shame and disappointment he's wielding against Craftamus.

"Me? Why me? Is it because you'd fear I would become more powerful? Is that so brother?" Craftamus said, with a stern face. Lightmare hesitated to wield his blade, but he was eager to rid of him. Lightmare then smiled, and said "True words, but if I am not able to rid of you, the Hallow, Jungle, the word, can rid of you!". Craftamus stood up, and wields the Night's Edge. "So this is the truth eh? Treat your brother like one of the corruption? I thought you were a role model, but now I see thy truth: You're just a stuck-up, lying, fame-hog jerk", he said, before slicing his blade at Lightmare. It managed to cut the armor, but no injuries. Lightmare blasted Craftamus into the tree, therefore, making Craftamus, unconscious.

"LIGHTMARE!" Nissa yelled from afar. Lightmare turned instantly, and said "Nissa, thy wonders art thy out of Inn? The corruption is rising, and Craftamus is enforcing it". Nissa ignored the quote, and yelled "LIES! ALL LIES!". Lightmare couldn't handle it, and immediately commands the Chaos Elementals to escort her back to the Inn. "THY HOPES YOU DIE IN A PITY WAY, TERRA WANTED" she yelled, before shut off. Lightmare felt the anger in his spine, but knowing, this is the only choice.

"Art needs to find the weakness, but first, escort this corpse out of my sight", Lightmare spoke to himself.

Barren wasteland, the Snow Biome. Craftamus laid on the soft snow, still unconscious. No breath exhaled, no movement made. All like a doll. A nearby Eskimo, stumbled unto Craftamus. "Is this, the Ancient Warlord of the Corruption?" he asked. Not knowing, he chucked Craftamus onto his market trolley, and took him underground, where the Ice Tribe were settling. Zemmy, the leader, was in charge of the tribe, wielding the elements of Ice. He saw the eskimo, and asked for the corpse. Aware of the leader, the eskimo gave Craftamus to Zemmy, and fleed

"Ugh, where am I? When, am I?" Craftamus asked, before he saw a penguin, filled his sight. He crawled back, but another penguin was behind him. "No need to fear, thy adventurer" Zemmy answered, "You are safe, and well, under the vision of the Ice Tribe". "Ice Tribe? I thought thy legend" Craftamus said, but knowing of his powers, "But anyway, why have you housed me, I am the, incarnation of the Shadow Warlord. "Thy knew since, but I am aware, you aren't the evil this world is invaded by" Zemmy said, gently. He came down to Craftamus, and kneeled before him. "Uhh, is something supposed to happen here?" Craftamus said.

"Thy Ice respects Corruption. It has brought gift of Pigrons, the ancient Guardians of the Ice Biome" Zemmy said, "Ever since then, we had considered the Corruption as allies". Craftamus then said "But the Hallow and Crimson can also grant Pigrons when forged with the Ice". Zemmy stopped, and said "Oh, didn't thought of that". By then, a penguin rushed to Zemmy and said "ZEMMY! We received words from the Jungle: The Necros have taken over the temple!"

"Lihzarhds! DEFEND!" one Lihzarhd soldier said. The truce between the Lihzarhds and Necros was finally broken. Paladins, Snipers, Diabolists, everyone from the Dungeon had to do their part. No one questioned why they were attacking the Lihzarhds, but all the jungle creatures could only do, was witness, the war. A fellow parrot, named Storm, was woken by the cry of pain, the scream of skin being sliced. "What the heck is going on?" he asked. As soon as he looked out of the hole in his tree, which was used as a window. It was a warzone in the temple. The main gate to the temple was blasted apart. Corpses of Necros and Lihzarhds were everywhere. This was never a good sight to see, especially when you were a parrot hybrid.

"This isn't good. I must warn Lightmare!" storm said to himself, and off he went, flying through the warzone, and out of the Jungle. He never have left the jungle before, so this was new to him. But he knew a lot about Lightmare, as he was, the warrior of Light, the guardian of the world. He was flying as fast as he can, because he never knew, if the Jungle would stand still when he comes back. Then suddenly, he bumped into Craftamus. "Sorry sir Li..."Storm said, but he quickly unfinished his sentence when he realized who he bumped into. "It's ok" Craftamus said. Storm yelled out a jungle cry, and wielded his blade, pointing at Craftamus. "Woah woah woah!" Craftamus said, surprised, "I'm not here to hurt".

"Who are you, vile creature from the Corruption? Stay back! We're already have trouble at the jungle" storm said, threatening Craftamus with the blade. Craftamus understood the conflict between the Corruption and Jungle, but he wasn't after that. "I know, Necros and Lihzarhds, old couple they act like. I can help". Storm was surprised by the fact, a corruption being would help the Jungle, but storm had his wits. Just then, a shuriken went ricocheting between Storm and Craftamus. "Who the heck was that?!" Craftamus asked, wielding his Night's Edge...

"We don't have time, RUN!" storm said, as he flew past Craftamus in incredible speed. Craftamus followed orders, because he too, didn't want to find out the answer to his question. As he got over a snow-covered hill, getting stuck several times, he heard a loud cry, followed by bones, being crushed. He turned back, to see a large giant, following him. Craftamus wanted to thank the figure, but then, he could make out the giant. That, was no ordinary giant...

"DON'T LOOK BACK CRAFT! DON'T LO..." storm said, thinking Craftamus was with him. But when he turned his back, he found out why it was quiet. He rushed back, only to crash face first into a hammer. "Where you off to, tweety bird?" the person said. As storm looked up to see what it was, the only thing he could say, was a loud squawk. Craftamus heard the squawk, and brought up his blade. "What do you want?" Craftamus said. The giant, which Craftamus now knows, was a giant penguin, in royal gowns, lift up his hammer, revealing a cannon. "Oh, I got plans for you" the penguin said. He used all his strength to hammer Craftamus, but when he opened his eyes. He was gone

"What plans?" Craftamus yelled, as he ran off into the blizzard. He could hear the penguins scream, filled with anger, and vengeance. He did not want to look back, but as he kept on running, he wish he did. Another figure, holding what appears to be a Venus Magnum, fired a Nanite Bullet at Craftamus. He tried to resist the confusion, but it wasn't enough. He collapsed onto the snowy floor. The last thing he saw, was the same hammer, that penguin wielded

Craftamus woke up to the sounds of slashing, crashing and slamming. He found himself in a dungeon room. "W, what? Where am I? Release me now!". He remembered those figures, one was a penguin, one held a large green hammer, one with a Venus Magnum, and one who threw Shurikens. "Keep calm Craftamus, you're safe, if I can hold them off", Craftamus heard next to him. Craftamus could see a figure, in yellow, heavy armor. "Who, who are you? How did you know my name?" Craftamus said, standing up. The figure looked back at him, and to his eyes, Craftamus realized who it was...

"Samrux, Paladin of the Dungeon" Samrux said, shaking Craftamus' hand. Craftamus knew Samrux, he used to help Lightmare with any conflict that happened in the realm of Terraria. "Why did you save me?" Craftamus said, confused on the topic. Samrux got back to holding up the door, and said "The world needs shadow, even when there's light. It keeps the balance". Just then, a bullet blasted through the door, and stunned Samrux. "Uh oh, got to find a way to hide" Craftamus said.

The intruders, who were previously the dark figures before, broke in, and looked around the room. "You said he was in here, Nageru!" the penguin said. "Patience, fatso. He's here, he's just, hiding somewhere" the hammer wielder said. Craftamus held his breath, which was one of his specialities. "Doesn't look like he's here. Could of sworn I hear..." Nageru said, until the penguin cornered her into the wall. "LISTEN! Lightmare will go angry, if we don't find him. There's no time for fun and games, unless you want the wrath, of Swordbomb!" he said. Nageru then pushed him into a bookshelf, where Craftamus was hiding. Luckily, he was able to use the powers of invisibility. "Ok, if that's what you want..." Swordbomb said, swinging his hammer at Nageru. One of the figures stood infront of Swordbomb, and stopped the hammer from crushing Nageru. "Look Sword, we're here to find Craftamus, not to fight each other. Got that?" the figure said. "Ugh, fine Qui" Sword said. They walked out the room, closing the door behind them.

Craftamus quietly collapsed onto the floor, gasping for air. "That, was close". He then saw another figure, appear in front of him. Craftamus thought it was one of the bounty hunters, but then he heard the figure say "Need help?"...

Craftaus looked up to see one of his friends, Matsu. "Matsu, about time I see you!" he said, getting up and scavenging the room for his blade. "I forgot my map when trying to look for you, so be grateful I DID find you" Matsu said. He looked out of the room, seeing if the coast was clear. "Alright, clear, so you're safe" Matsu said, leading the way. Craftamus wielded his blade, and followed Matsu, getting to the top of the dungeon, to find the bright sun. But what they expected, was the casual landscape, was The Corruption, that has surroned the dungeon. "I, I didn't do this" Craftamus stuttered, trying to make sure Matsu doen't think otherwise.

Suddenly, the same figures appeared, but in bright light, revealed their selves. "Sword, Nageru, Helena and Qui, just what I expected" Matsu said, bringing out a sharp flail. Nageru walked closer, holding a sharp Shuriken, saying "You expected right now? Typical Matsu. We're only here for him, Craftamus". Craftamus then walked closer, not revealing any fear or sign of retreat. "If you want me, so be it. But I got one question..." Craftamus said, then interrupted by a loud scream. A swarm of corruptors, charged into Helena, Sword, Nageru and Qui, trying to bite them. "Quick Craft! Run!" Matsu said, pushing Craftamus out of the bounty hunters' view. Craftamus obeyed orders, and ran away, not looking what's behind him. "Now, to deal with you" Matsu said, swinging his flail at the bounty hunters.

Lightmare was able to see what was going on, from the roof of the dungeon. "So, they failed eh?" a dark figure said, beside to Lightmare. Lightmare grinned, and replied "True, but that's to distract Craftamus. I still got plans for him". The dark figure let out a passive smirk, and pulled out his Snowman Cannon. "But, will I get her back if I succeed?" he asked. Lightmare sharpened his Excalibur, and said "For sure, just, discard Craftamus from this world".

Craftamus found himself at the edge of the Crimson barrier. "Argh, the land of flesh, great" he sighed. A spray of ichor ricocheted past him, which came from a nearby cave. He wielded his blade, and walked closer to find a dark figure. "Why are you here with your dark presence, corrupted being" it said. "I could swear it was a Ichor Sticker, but it's just a measly "warrior", trying to show off". "Craftamus, I'm guessing you never heard of Velaria, child of the Crimson" it said, revealing her face.

"Velaria? Where have I heard that name?" Craftamus said, in a fighting stance. Velaria jumped from the cave and onto a tree, which was just hanging above Craftamus. "Your bro's Lightmare, right? Now you're corrupted, and he has set a bounty on you, so everyone's after you" she said, unarmed and sitting on the branch. "Bounty? He would do no such thing! Sure he kicked me out, but he'll come back for me, I'm su..." Craftamus replied in a puff, but when he was to finish his sentence, a rocket blasted the tree, causing Velaria to fall down. Luckily Craftamus managed to save her. "Uhh, it, it didn't look like I needed saving..." Velaria said nervously, but then she jumped off, and charged into the figure who shot the rocket. "I outta feed you to the Blood Crawlers for that!" she said, with a swing of her blade. But the figure shot another rocket, and she was blasted into the cave.

"Who are you? What do you want?" Craftamus yelled, far below the figure. "I'm Seth, and I'm here to terminate you, to collect my reward" he said, and then he shot another rocket, but missing Craftamus. Craftamus fell into the cave, out of Seth's sight. "Reward, reward... Lightmare couldn't have, or could, he?" he said. He dropped his blade, and lay onto the rocky floor. His eyes became watery, but he wiped the tears off. "I might be corrupted, but I'm still his bro". He then picked up his sword. "We've been working together ever since, fighting evil". He threw the Night's Edge into the chasm. "And now, he's fighting me". He then went onto his knees, with a sad expression. "There could have been a bondage, a negotiation, a compromise". He then collapsed fully, laying on the ground again. "But, he just, banished me. And hired assassins to kill me". When he heard the blade break, he cracked into tears. "WHY LIGHTMARE?!" he yelled, "WE WERE THE HEROES! HEROES OF TERRARIA!" he tried to wipe away the tears, but it kept on flowing. "AND NOW YOU SWEAR TO RID ME FROM THIS LAND!" He then closed his eyes, for 5 minutes, rethinking his past.

Night struck, and Seth was starting to think about going down there. But then it got darker. "Come out Craftamus! You have no chance of..." Seth said, but then he stopped in a strike of fear. Craftamus rose from the ground, covered in shadows and cursed flames all over him. Seth then loaded his gun, but Craftamus fired a cursed flame missile at him, interrupting the loading. "Where is Lightmare?" Craftamus yelled. Seth kept quiet, but that got him another missile fired at him. "WHERE IS HE?" he yelled again. "He's, he's at the Hallow, but n-no one can enter, or-r leave" Seth said, quaking in fear. Seth ran off, regardless if he had the chance to kill Craftamus.

"Lightmare, you've made many mistakes, but now..." Craftamus said, forming his Night's Edge back from matter, "There's consequences to be made..."

"YOU DIDN'T CATCH HIM?!" Lightmare yelled in anger, swinging his blade at Seth. Seth ducked down, and fell onto his knees and said "He's, he had green flames, he's, he's became the dark side's warrior". Lightmare then swung his blade at Seth, and threw it into the wall. This rumble also shocked Nissa. She carefully walked down the stairs. Andrew also saw her walk down, and followed her. "Nissa, what are you doing?" Andrew whispered, but there was no answer. They carefully hid behind the wall. They couldn't make out what was they were saying, but before they ran up when Lightmare was about to check on them, they heard Lightmare say:

"Get the shrine working. I don't care if it even destroys this Inn, it'll at least destroy the Corruption"

More chapters are still on the way, so stay tuned for more! Hope you enjoy the story series, and remember...

For future reference, don't overuse 'thy' like you're spreading Nutella over your toast multiple times. Thy means 'your', and is an old-fashioned term. If you're planning to use it, use it correctly.

The story itself, its OK, I would say. So far it is growing a little bland, which means you need to incorporate some more action to it than it already has. That isn't to say the first few chapters are a plain sheet of paper, with nothing drawn over, it means you just need to draw lines from dot-to-dot. Enough with the metaphors, I like where this is going. Keep it up.
