With Great Power Comes Great Accessibility - Introducing Terraria's New Journey Mode

I'm willing to bet it'll be like HERO mod God Mode. With God Mode on, the Dungeon Guardian will just heat-seek you, center itself on your character, and spin indefinitely until you do 9,999 damage over the course of the next few hours while being immensely annoyed at its incessant spinning or you log out.

I don't think disabling spawns will kill (Or remove) all enemies present in the world. That would be too cheesy.

Skeletron doesn't kill you; the Dungeon Guardian does. If enemy spawning is off, then I see no reason why the DG would be exempt from that. And if God Mode is on, that basically means you don't take damage, so I see no reason why the DG would be exempt from that.
Time for a bunch of "NEW method of getting bone key, EASY, ANY DIFFICULTY, 1.4 ONLY, EXPLOIT" titles for videos

*waits for solar eclipse to happen* *sets spawns to 10 and freezes time* *spams Last Prism+Mana Flower and a inventory full of potions*
Game: +9999 Broken Hero Swords!

That's what I'd do if it were 100, but it's probably like 10, not 1.
This right here is exactly why I'm excited for journey mode, freezing time and then cranking up the spawns to 10 will make farming things like blood moons and the solar eclipse much faster, but not exactly "easier", if you know what I mean.

As someone who bought the game back in 2011 and played through fairly a number of times, I have no compunctions about using some light cheats to accelerate a new playthrough. As a huge packrat I look forward to Research as a convenient alternative to building a screen full of chests to save literally everything I pick up.

I do have a couple concerns about Research, especially how bloated it might get once your item total starts getting into the thousands:
  • Is there any way to change the Sort method of the list, like there is for it Bestiary? From the one screenshot it looks like you are using a new category-based sort, which is probably the best way of doing it, but an option to sort alphabetically or even by internal Item ID might sometimes be useful.
  • It looks like every item is put into one of seven filter tabs. I wish there was a set of sub-filters to break it down further, such as dividing weapons into Melee/Ranged/Magic/Summon, or even further like Sword/Spear/Yoyo/Flail/etc.
  • Another thing I quite like about the Bestiary is the ability to sort or filter (not clear which) by biome. A similar "acquisition method" sort or filter for items could be very useful- for example, see all Jungle-related items together, or all items crafted from Silver.
  • I know that it's already been answered that we won't be able to see how many items we're missing. While that's disappointing, even a "total research completion" progress bar like the Bestiary has would be neat.

Even if it could be done only in a Journey Large Size World, it'd be fun if we could set that Large Size World to have BOTH the Corruption & Crimson at the same time... especially so then we could need only one Journey World to get stuff from both Evil Biomes Researched... before we eventually Hardmode Clemintator Exterminate the whole lotta both of them! `:naughty:

Actually, I forgot to include: *Turns on god mode.*

A question that came up recently, will achievements be enabled for journey mode worlds? The only one I'm missing is running 200 fishing quests for the angler, and being able to control time sounds like will be useful to complete this one, if it is possible.
On a similar note, is it possible to have achievements tracked by world, as well as by copy of the game? Now that I have almost all of them, I miss the nice feeling of having them popping up from time to time. :D

Pretty easy to cheese your way through that one with the fishing glitch and multiple characters.

Question i see there is a diff setup for tracking stuff to see if you have got all of the stuff for the bestiary, but what about for the research. I like to collect stuff and would feel better if i knew i was not overlooking something to unlock so will the duplication stuff have similiar set up in the end so you can make sure to find it all to ressearch.?

The glitch where you can cast your initial line, then cast multiple lines over and over again was patched at one point, then reintroduced and working in the current build.
It does have a downside though in that if you're at the ocean and wanting to summon Duke Fishron... well, you're going to summon a few copies of him as well.
