I was happily farming in the underground crimson, in my journey mode world, when my game suddenly crashed. When I restarted the game, the world was still there, but it said it was a normal world of unknown size (it was a large world). So I could not get in with my journey mode character.
I play terraria from steam.
I have a linux machine.
Nothing special happened, I was just killing mobs in the underground crimson. I had just killed Plantera (in an other gaming session, not the same day in real life). then the game suddenly crashed.
I have an intel cpu and amd gpu.
I deleted my wolrd file and restored the backup file and everything went back to normal. It seems the world was backed up just before the game crashed because nothing was lost. It seems the content of the original world file was deleted by the crash because now the file is empty (I realised when I tried to attach it to the post). The backed up world file is too large to attach to the post.
