Resolved [Xbox One] Solved: No local multiplayer

Since the 1.4 update local multiplayer no longer works.

When you start hosting a multiplayer world, regardless of the settings, there is no option for a local player to join. The game doesn't show any button to press to join nor does any button or combination of buttons work to join.

Restarting the game and restarting the Xbox both had no effect on the issue.

We've been really looking forward to play 1.4 on Xbox so hopefully this will get solved soon.

I'm having the same issue. Was very much looking forward to having a split screen session with my girlfriend later tonight... Hope this is fixed soon!

Ok so we solved it. You just need to start a single player game and then player 2 can join via the settings button.

That is not a solution there should be split-screen in multiplayer worlds too.

Loki mentioned why its not possible atm "Splitscreen + Online (in combination) Multiplayer is not currently supported - this will be explored at a later update, as we did not want to delay the launch to chase the many edge case issues this specific situation creates."

I am also not seeing an option to add a second player in local split screen. This does not work.

Thanks for the reply. I tried this and it takes me to the username sign in page. When I click on my username nothing happens. There is no option to login as guest.

each user has to have their own account, select a different user than the first player and it should add another player into the game
