To make the bug (Probably a bug) work you need to: place a platform and hammer it until it becomes stairs and the stairs are facing the player, then you place a block behind the stairs, then you walk on to the stairs while holding down the down key, and you should walk through. If you place multiple (At least three) stairs on top of each other (With blocks behind) you don't even have to hold the down key, you can just walk through. you also seem to be able to walk through doors that can not be opened.
