You must save or kill the user above you

I shoot the rope to save you.

I accidentally kill someone when shooting the rope, and now I'm about to be executed.
 
I make sure for execution to be interrupted or otherwise the preparations drawn out by trail of clowns, for long enough for you to disappear and not get executed.

I lost control of my car and I'm going to crash into skyscaper at 170kmph.
 
I shoot the seat you are in deploying the airbag you were trying to activate, softening the blow and taking serious injury instead of death.

Now I'm getting chased by L4D2 survivors who want to gun me down and throw molotovs at me.
