Sup! I have a few questions. And I'm not sure that this thread is in the right place, sorry. Anyways, if you're a gaming YouTuber, please answer any questions you can. It would be very helpful!
~ How much money does a normal YouTube gaming channel take? (Including the price of a recording download, a laptop, etc.)
~ How much is a headset, and what is a good brand?
Thx

A good upper mid headset would be anything Razer. the lower end ones cost around 60 bucks (American). I would suggest starting out with one of those.

This. I use a Razer Banshee, but those are more like $150. Its mic is surprisingly good and clear (sometimes people can hear things happening in the next room while I'm not talking and it picks up my breathing, despite me having it tilted halfway up).
As for the other questions...
Recording is free; you can get OBS (google that) for free as your recording software. Then it is just a matter of learning how to do it. You could do it in one of two ways: You could upload to Twitch.tv and then have Twitch export to Youtube (you will lose a little video quality doing this and it is limited by your bandwidth) or you could tell OBS to record to file and upload this file to Youtube (not limited by bandwidth, but you have to wait for it to upload).
A computer... you just need something good enough to play Terraria and have extra resources to run the recording software.

Hmm. I didn't know that taking one video and posting it was so complicated >.< Maybe I'll just stick to playing it? I mean, I don't know anyone that makes videos or anything...^^

It is a decent amount of work, hence why people get paid on Youtube for putting out quality content.
I've made a few videos myself but they are hardly quality (I have 0.75Mbit upstream, so yeah....) so I wouldn't even dream of attempting to monetize it because frankly the quality just isn't there, nor am I all that knowledgeable about how to edit video. I know enough to stick a video on Youtube, but not really into editing.
I'll do a series of videos for my guide when 1.3 comes out, but they will probably be in a similar format and will be just there to go along with the written guide as sometimes video is easier to explain/understand than trying to describe what I mean in words (like my mini-guide for a Pirates/Eclipse camp).

I'm just thought you made a vid and stuck it on YouTube. I don't have time to get into all of this XD I have teenager goofin off to do! I think I'll try it even though it may be hard...It is a decent amount of work, hence why people get paid on Youtube for putting out quality content.

Its hard to really give you a number on how much a Youtuber makes, its all different. The more popular they are the more money they make, that part should be obvious. But these people are usually part of another partnership program alongside Youtube such as Machinima. (There's one that's more popular nowadays but I cannot remember the name.) The main source of income is ad revenue. To even begin receiving ad revenue, you need to gain a certain amount of views and meet their requirements.
From your OP I can almost safely assume that you want to do this for the money and not as a hobby. That mindset will not get you far at all. Any successful Youtube content maker will tell you that going into videomaking with the sole intention of making money is a HORRIBLE idea. It will just cause discouragement and dissapointment in the long run. Why? Because people can tell when you are only doing it for the money and not for your own enjoyment, and will then avoid your content.
Lastly you need to find your niche, bring something original to the table. That's ultimately the hardest part.

If you want you could cut out parts and edit a lot to make your video short and nice. Really nobody wants to see a youtube video about picking dirt blocks for hours without anything else.
[edit]: Wait. I'm not answering the main questions. I'll be off now.

Well that's quite discouraging. I've decided I'm not YouTubing. I'll shut the thread. Its hard to really give you a number on how much a Youtuber makes, its all different.
