I was thinking of having a zoom feature like in Starbound, which can primarily be used for people with bad vision. This doesn't necessarily have to replace the resolution feature, but could b used in place of it for people who want to play windowed and not have it distorted (by the way, if you put it in fullscreen with a proportion not like your screen, the windowed version will be stretched/squished)
This could b useful for having better vision or having better screenshots, both without changing your resolution
