He's not used to having his eyes visible. There's too much light.
If you look really closely you'll realise that

Oh wait his eyes are open
Let's just say he's too lazy to use them right now and minion should do it for him.

"Minion use your eyes for me"
"Not now, going to grind for Rathalos Plates"

And then he does this look:

I should get 3U, I want to see more of Cha-Cha and Kayamba
Too bad I'll have to get used to thing like no mounting, no hunter arts and the like

Cha-Cha and Kayamba are in Gen, not as helper characters but they give you quests sometimes. What they are in Gen is cool enough, but you can get 3U if you like.
Basically the only reason I like Duramboros is because Kayamba.

I saw that intro cut scene with Kayamaba and Duramboris once, I smiled at watching Kayamaba being an idiot.
