The private teams will develop their rover concepts over the course of 12 months. Then, they will become eligible to compete in an additional NASA task order, where they will need to build the rover. The winning rover will be brought along on Artemis 5. Each of their renditions on the LTV will be provided to NASA as a service similarly to how spacesuits and lunar landers are as well.
