tAPI is closed source, because it contains terraria code.

tModLoader is slightly older than Prism, but they work diffrently. tModLoader is closed-source and uses decompiled terraria.exe, meanwhile Prism is open-source, and uses code-injection at original .exe - thus barely requiring any changes if terraria gets updates. They both have their own good...

You don't because you can't. Either use tModLoader or Prism - both of them are still in development. I would suggest prism.

There's. ILSpy and VisualStudio 2015 Anyway, all those prism-fanboys, lol - get a life. tModLoader has much more features than prism ever will have, and is much more better in all ways. Not only tModLoader uses actual c# instead of crappy cecil like prism, it's perfomance is like x10 better...

You could just wait for PrismAPI which is like tAPI, just on steroids and all other cool stuff.

You can use tApi for 1.2.x.x if you want to mod for 1.3.x.x you will have to either update tApi yourself, or modify 1.3.x.x yourself - which is pretty harsh, due to thousands of lines of invalid code after decompile.
