Phones are sporting quad core processors. Considering 64gb sd cards, storage isn't an issue. Some of the most graphically amazing games today are well under fifty gb in size. The only issue here is GPU muscle and VC RAM. It won't be long before the phone hardware is easily able to handle a better version of Terraria if it isn't able to right now already.
 
I hope you're all aware that quite a sizable chunk of the Mobile Terraria buyers bought it on old phones, not iPad3434424. While I usually don't praise 505 and their dev squads, I must say trying to keep Terraria around for those who can't afford OMGSHINYNEWPHONE every year is a very good development choice, if limiting.

So no, it doesn't really matter if your iPhone435 can play PC's Crysis 2.
 
Honestly an MMO would be pretty aweso- *shot*

But yeah I always looked at mobile versions of games as just watered down editions. Eventually they may port stuff over but don't expect it coming anytime soon.
