Sirens sometimes spawn in oceans after the Wall of Flesh is killed. They tend to spawn alone. Sirens resemble women with a greenish blue fishtail and pink hair. They also wear what looks like a seashell bra.
Sirens are kind of like the Lost Girl / Nymph. They will wave at you in the water. When you approach them, instead of turning monstrous, the Siren will emit an aura of a song that distorts the background around you, which is a status effect called Astonished. Sirens swim at you, dealing contact damage.
When you leave water at a height that is reachable to them, Sirens spin in the air and try to hit you. Comedically, if you are too high for their jump attempt, they look angry and wave their fist.
Sirens are not hard to kill. Their distortion effect is just intended to make it a little harder to get away from them. Their attack damage is not very high.
They drop coins, and even some gems rarely. Pearls are semi-commomly dropped from them.
