Anyone else having bothered by minecarts being mounted with R?

I often use the slime mount for quick descents during boss battles to dodge attacks, but my boss arena is made up of mine cart tracks. So, a lot of the time, I will accidentally mount the mine cart instead of mounting my slime, and this will get me killed during boss fights. Now, I know you're thinking, "why don't you just make it out of platforms?" Well, mobs can spawn on platforms. Mine cart tracks can still be grappled, and mobs can't spawn on them. I also know that sometimes mounting the mine cart with R can be convenient, so I think it would be nice if this was made optional, maybe so it can be bound to a separate button in the settings?

Well, mobs can spawn on platforms.

You can always use a wall behind your arena. That will prevent mobs spawning, provided that it is surrounded by either blocks or platforms or some combination there of.

Yeah, R to get on minecarts is kind of annoying for me. I laid minecart tracks all across my world to get around easier early in the game, and now have to deal with them constantly interfering with mounts later on.
