Preface
While making my meteor expansion thread, it got me thinking about the possibility of comets in terraria, as a somewhat hardmode version. It got me thinking more; about the link between the meteor and the crimson/corruption. And everyone seems to be suggesting alts for the hallow, corruption, and underworld, why not try something different?
By the way, a lot of the stuff in this suggestion is based off of my meteor expansion thread, so go read that one if you haven’t yet, or else this suggestion might not make much since.
Comets appear in corruption worlds when shadow orbs are smashed.

Fallen comets are made up entirely of Cometstone, and tend to keep a more rounded structure near the top, while exploding into spike-like formations near the bottom. When standing on Cometstone without an obsidian skull, the player is inflicted with the Frigid debuff.

The comet storm is an event can happen at any time after a comet has landed and a boss has been defeated. A comet storm has a 20% chance of happening at daybreak, after the first storm, the event chance is lowered to 4% per day. Comet Storms end at nightfall.
When the event begins, the text “A comet is passing by!” will be displayed in chat. The skies will darken, and everything is given a light-blueish tint. The background is overlaid with a massive comet, raining strange sparkles, dust, and bits of comet down.

However, if left undestroyed, it will fire a large hitscan laser.
If Hallies is killed first, the cosmic guardian will no longer create the large energy orb, and will begin creating energy bursts, and smaller hitscan laser orbs, which cannot be destroyed.
