Switch keyboard blocks chat

it seems there is a possible issue where when you open the chat the keyboard gets in the way, and when you close it the chat also closes. but if you use emojis the chat can be viewed but the emoji menu is in the way of it. sorry if i explained this badly

I am a Switch player with 350+ hours in that version alone and I have the same issue. I have to spam open and close chat to read if anything happened in my world while AFK or I didn’t get to read a message in time.
