it isn't true, because in older versions fo Terraria they didn't have female sprites and in version 1.2.1 if I know they added female varitation to it.
Ancient Iron and gold Helmet they recolored to match newer version (sadly they have black outline and normal helmets have more colourfull).

Looks great so far. If you are taking requests, some sort of wooden chair flail would be fantastic. Either way, continue the great work, you are very good with detail and outlining.

To me Bar Stool count great as Wooden Chair Flair. Have fun making it and it was easy. I worried somebody will post hard request.

If you're taking requests, may I suggest remaking at least some of the wood armors so the non-headgear parts aren't just recolors? If I can only request one, Boreal Wood, because best wood ever.
