The skeleton mage being named Tim is a reference to Monty python and the quest for the holy grail. Having a different movie be referenced by the name Tim does seem kind of weird.

That's Tim Lockwood from Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, who is very notably not a bartender. He owns a bait and tackle shop. I understand that they look somewhat similar, but I don't think it's a good enough reason to add in a reference here.

I support this because I loved the movie, and i think it would be a fun reference. If not for the tavernkeep, then could we maybe have Flint as a possible name for the angler?

He does at the end of the movie. He successfully catches one minnow after nearly getting pulled in. Still, I agree that Flint wouldn’t be a proper name for the angler NPC.
