My friend got all the Emeralds.
But yeah, the only thing the 3DS lacks from the DSi is Flipnote, but I don't think DSi's can even connect to the internet now, so...

I'd say that if you can manage, keep the DSi, but a 3DS is always nice.

Still use a ds lite and GBA, never bothered getting a DSI or anything because there really is no point.
