Yes. It will also spawn Hardmode mobs, be able to summon the EoW in, and be able to get Shadow orb loot, through Corrupt Crates.

No, the "strip" won't appear, that seems to be hard-coded - at least it didn't do it in any of my "screw choosing" worlds.
