Go to http://imgur.com, click "Upload images" at the top, then click "Browse your computer" or drag and drop the file onto the page. Then you'll have it there, to the right of the imgur page will be a direct url. Copy that, go back to here, then paste it in a new status.
Also, you can edit your statuses and comments instead of posting new ones.
