Try and get a nimbus staff, it helps out a whole lot!It's useful even if you aren't a magic player especially on the destroyer. The probes drop hearts and are more of a pain than the boss itself, so try and target those. Using a melee weapon is a good way to deal damage, but the Golden Shower is the best way to do damage if you have a crimson world, due to the defense reducing debuff.

Cutlass, if you have it. Also repeaters work well

Also, if ya playing ranged, using a repeater with Unholy arrows/Jester arrows recks him.

on i didn't fight him. i have before on mobile and beat him, but I'm talking about PC. I'm not playing now.
