In my own experience, Ocram is easy as hell. You could probably beat him before even fighting Duke Fishron

I was planning on trying to get the Razorblade Typhoon before challenging Ocram.

You don't really need it. Ocram was around since 1.1, and he could definitely be killed then. If anything, you should get gear from Ocram in order to kill Fishron.
He may seem like a big challenge but he really isn't. He's just a hardmode Eye of Cthulhu.

Well, I already have the Suspicious Looking Skull...
Might as well get the Piranha Gun and the Vampire Knives and get to it...
