It's definitely easier with friends on normal mode, but remember- the invasions scale up in terms of difficulty to the number of players in expert mode.

When the dragon comes out the waves get overwhelming and the dragon destroys. I have end game gear. Turtle armor, meowmere, last prism, ect.

Yeah, Betsy can be a pain. I don't think Turtle Armor is ideal, however, I recommend Solar Flare for higher damage and increased survive-ability.
