Wait that's actually a thing that happens to people?

I figured that I'd be scared of social events like this all my life if I didn't try. The girl was a good friend, I had peer pressure at my back, and nothing more to lose, so I asked. Another rationale was that I'd need firsthand experience so I can finally hate these events with actual evidence, haha!
