Hmm, anything medieval? That does limit me some since I usually tended to go for fantasy. I did enjoy John Flanagan's Ranger's Apprentice series for medieval, however, it takes a sharp turn downhill after the fourth book The Oakleaf Bearers and frankly, TOB had such a fitting ending that I daresay the series' revival was encouraged 90% dolla-making and 10% good storytelling.

Anything by Philip Reeve (especially the original Mortal Engines 4) and Paul Stewart and Chris Riddell (The Edge Chronicles) are really good, but those're less grounded settings. If you want more highbrow reading I really enjoyed One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest (film is also good) and The Man in the High Castle (series is bloody well not good, they made the plot up for :red:s and giggles) recently.

I did mean medieval fantasy whoops, sorry

I'll try those out. Currently reading a book right now, I'd say it might be pretty inspirational
