Apparently in Star wars battlefront 2, you have to unlock the ability to play as characters like Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker, and you'll either have to spend 40 hours grinding to unlock each one or buy them with real money.
I don't really care either way, but it's worth pointing out that a 40 hour grind for one character is essentially an entire week working full time job.
EA tried to defend this decision on reddit, and the internet responded by awarding them with the most downvoted comment in the history of the website.
It's over 375,000 downvotes at this point. That however was just one part. An EA guy also called these people 'armchair developers' on Twitter like microtransactions have anything to do with game development. That one was so bad they quickly deleted it, by which I mean it's already archived and screenshot forever.
