I have an idea for a new mechanical boss.
You see, it began with a question: "If the Corruption has a mechanical boss, why shouldn't the Crimson?"
I know, I know, the Brain of Cthulhu was defeated for good. But what if it wasn't?
(Sorry, gotta send multiple messages. Didn't know there was a character limit)

What if it slinked away at the brink of death? It would've slinked off the die, but it was struck with an idea!
It would slink off to the Dungeon to finish what the Mechanic never finished: A mechanical brain.
But Cthulhu's brain was furious; seething with rage that it was defeated by a puny warrior.

It took matters into its' own tentacles, and built a suit not only to keep it alive, but to exact revenge on the one who defeated it!
I present to you: The Mastermind!

(Still, really sorry about the multitude of messages. I'm a new forums member)

Surprisingly enough, that idea gets suggested alot. I guess upgrades to already existing bosses is just a really easy idea to latch onto.

I didn't know everyone else was suggesting this.
My concept has an attack pattern that might stand out, though.
It's attacks are kind of a mix of the original Brain, Skeletron Prime and the Destroyer.
It starts with 25-35 probes and uses a flamethrower, laser gun, and buzz-saw to attack the player. All of these must be defeated for Phase Two to start.
