I concur. It is rare that I go into a desert biome on my Nintendo Switch version where a sandstorm is not in effect.

If you search on the "desert" page of the Terraria Wiki, it will mention that sandstorms can occur on the Desktop, Console, and Mobile version of Terraria, so long as the current wind speed in game exceeds thirty miles an hour.
