Both quests and questions of the day are well-served by some degree of causing conscious thought, at least I so believe.

As an example, note the cognitive difference between:

"What type of animal do you keep as a pet?"
Vs.
"If you could fix any one relationship you know of, which one would you pick, and why?"

An additional caveat as regards quests: the results should be visible to other forum users. Example:

"Run a mile,"
Vs.
"Choose a forum member you do not interact with much, and attempt to get to know them better."
Or,
"Finish this sentence however you please:
Stop! In the name of _____"

People should be able to either see the results somewhere on the forum, or in the comment section specifically.
