Set up a Hamachi network, with preferably a password. Once you're on Terraria, create a world and choose to host it. Once it's up, make sure the people you want to play with have joined your Hamachi network. And after, when your friends get onto Terraria, to join your Hamachi server, they'll have to enter the IP address underneath your name.
