Okay I should've mentioned the file name has to be "Cyborg_Default.png" and the party texture "Cyborg_Default_Party.png". Shimmered variants are in a folder called "Shimmered" within the TownNPCs folder, and use the same names.

Yep, it's a tModLoader thing. Some textures were altered between 1.4.3 and 1.4.4 so texture packs made for either version will not be fully functional on the other. You'll have to wait until tML updates to 1.4.4.

You're welcome! Some NPCs have different internal names. The Tavernkeep is actually called "Bartender" and the Zoologist is "Bestiary Girl". That's probably why you couldn't find those. Not sure why you couldn't find the golfer but he is there.
