Over my countless attempts, I have found that certain weapons allow the fight to be much smoother and less laggy. Switch yours up and see if that helps.

Well this was prior to several updates and might have been fixed, but I definitely consumed two as indicated by the number of hit points and the color change of the health bar.

I was able to consume the blood orange twice, this might have lead to my max health being capped at 700 as stated by the wiki.
