I'm having the same issue. Tried all instructions regarding .net/XNA, verified steam cache, compatibility mode, etc... and the game just won't launch. I get the little steam window that says "Preparing to launch Terraria..." and then... nothing. No error, no game launch, etc. I have run the game...
