Weapons & Equip Ankh Staff

The Destroyer
Summoner weapon. The minion takes the form of a glowing golden ankh hovering around the player. Crafted from 2 Ancient Fragments and 12 souls of light.

Takes up 5 minion slots, enough to be completely unreachable without gear commitment, so it cannot be used by non-summoners without hybridizing.

The summon does not attack enemies, but does add a 20% damage bonus to summon damage.

If the player takes a fatal hit with an ankh summoned, they avoid dying and revive with 50% health. If this effect is activated, all ankh summons are removed, and the player receives a debuff that disables summoning any new minions for 5 minutes (subject to change).

The idea for this summon is to be a utility summon that favors a whip build, as it heavily limits your summons in exchange for effectively +50% HP.

Someone probably came up with this idea already.

I just don't see this being used, 5 minion slots for the cost of avoiding death isn't that great. Especially when you can just make a tank build and keep most of your minion slots anyway. Whips aren't that great without their summons, you could potentially use this if you're going for sentries but that would require sentries to be actually viable and outside of queen spider sentry that isn't really the case either.

To add, if you are using sentries that likely means you are using OOA armour, which doesn't give minion slots at all, so that makes using this on a sentry build a bit impractical.

Maybe it would see use in hardcore mode, though you'd probably need to devote 2+ accessory slots to minion capacity to use this (which probably still isn't worth it)
