There are quite a lot of Terraria custom maps out there, but not even close to the amount of, for example, Minecraft maps. This is probably because Terraria doesn't have a very good support for maps. I think we should change that, and give the Map-makers of Terraria some love!
These are my ideas:
New Statues
I think that statues for almost all mobs, except bosses, should exist in the game.
"But how will I find these heart statues I've been searching for in 5472828 days?"
Because most of the new statues would be unobtainable in legit gameplay - you could only get them from 3rd party programs and mods - Gameiki, for example. This way you wouldn't get any worse RNG problems.
Non-Placeable Blocks
Some Map-Makers want to include things like shadow orbs, crimson altars, and other stuff like that in their map. This should get solved by adding them as an item you can place. Once again, unobtainable in legit gameplay.
