Game Mechanics Biome Variant Statue Spawns

What if the statues spawned their biome variants while in that biome? i.e.:
Slime statue + snow biome = frozen some spawn
Bat statue + mushroom biome = spore bat spawn
Shark statue + Desert biome + HM = sand shark
etc.

That sounds like a pain for anyone with existing farms. Maybe just make the blocks underneath the statue matter? Snow blocks for frozen enemies, mushroom grass for spore bats, etc?
