Cultists still continue ritual after ~600 damage has been dealt

Whenever i fight the cultists when they do that 'ritual', I find it weird that when i attack the correct cultist they continue the ritual.
Help?

You just need to defeat all 4 of them to summon the cultist boss. Including the passive ones.

Ah, that.

Were you sure you were attacking the correct Cultist at that moment?
The other cultists that appears during the summon is just an illusion. If you hit the wrong one, the dragon summon continues.
