OK, so it's minor, like really minor, but when digging next to the dungeon, a happy little pink fairy appeared. I followed it and watched as it phased through the dungeon walls before popping over a locked Gold Chest.

Not a problem you might think...this was about 20 mins into a new world and I hadn't fought any bosses yet. Didn't think to hit the screenshot button as it happened.

Not a bug? That fairy lead you to the nearest chest. That's intended.

 

[Adapting]

Fairy's will lead you to any valuable treasure, including chests. The gold chests in a dungeon count as a chest, therefore it will lead you there.

Fairies are notoriously leading to chests you already looted and stuff too, but I guess in the end, they're more a neutral force that occassionally helps, and ocassionall play some pranks on the player? They still can be extremely helpful sometimes regardless.

in before the obligatory 'fairy showed up again to let me know my farm's loot chests were still 6 blocks away'
I still think that pink fairies shouldn't show up if you have spelunker active. feels weird.
