Console Hammer of the bugs

My Boreal wood hammer won't break walls.... it summons grasshoppers indefinitely... i have two chests filled with grasshoppers now.... but seriously, anyone else have this problem?

EDIT: here is a video, edited for time (do you really want to watch me conjure 143 grasshoppers over the span of 2 minutes?) Sorry, this was the only way i could record it.
