Hey so a friend and i have been farming oasis crates for a long time now trying to get them an Magic Conch, but even though the wiki's say that the odds are 12.5% we have opened well over 50 at this point with still no conch, has something changed in a recent update that failed to be reflected on the wiki or are we just somehow that unlucky ?

Nothing has changed in regards to crate loot for 1.4.4.9. it sounds like you are unlucky.
There's a good number of potential desert loot that can drop as the primary item from desert crates, it sounds reasonable that one wouldn't appear after 50 crates.
I recommend items that boost your fishing power if you aren't using some already to get more crates. As well as the crate potion.
