It appears that depending on where the jungle is there seems to be a lack of underground houses, anything to the right of it a lot of the houses are gone, leaving the chest just on the ground. If the jungle is on the left side most of the underground houses are missing in the center of the world, if the jungle is on the right side most underground houses closer to the edge on the right side are gone.
