Xbox 360 map giltched

I was on with my friend and i viewed my map on his world and parts of the map i discovered was random colors. If you go to fast into the glitched part of the map your game will crash.
The only way to fix it is for you to take it slow and view your map every few seconds.

This started to happen in 1.2.3

So when you load up there are glitches in the map, and if you go through them slowly updating your map it will fix it but otherwise you'll crash?

ya i did it about ten times and that seems the only way to do it without crashing

So your map is only usable if you move slowly, does leaving and rejoining fix the problem at all?
