This machine makes hardcore and medium core viable for casual players.

The machine disables all standard enemy spawns in the entire world. It does this by attempting to spawn an enemy from a statue every game tick. Thus no usual enemies can spawn as there can only be one standard spawn per tick.

Statues have a cooldown of 30 ticks so 30 statues must be used. By activating quarter second timers every tick there will be a timer activating a statue every tick. The critter spawned immediately dies to lava allowing the next statue to spawn an enemy in the following tick. When far from the machine a spawn attempt is still counted but the enemy despawns immediately.

Any critter statue can be used but I would advise against using a critter that turns into a enemy during a blood moon- penguins, bunnies and goldfish. However even with these statues, during a blood moon, the machine still functions when you are far enough away so they despawn. Even enemy statues can be used, but the same problem still applies.
In the get fixed boi seed this problem extends to all critter statues as they are not immediately killed by lava. But being far away still works.

Not all enemies are blocked from spawning, enemies that have "special" spawns can still spawn. Any enemy that is spawned from breaking a block (Wraiths- demon altars, ghosts- tombstones, Worms and grasshoppers- grasses). The cultists can still spawn. All bosses can still spawn. Statue spawned enemies can spawn. Old one army enemies can still spawn. Some enemies from stardust and vortex pillars can still spawn. Basically any enemy that can spawn on screen can still spawn.

Not massively over powered as you still have to collect 150 critters. This might be the totem of undying of Terraria hardcore. Long term hardcore worlds could now be viable.

This machine can be linked with a world load detector, with a little delay to allow for the dummy to spawn in.
 
Does this work for skipping pillars after killing cultist? Need an easy way to test against cultist without killing all the pillar everytime
 
it's not "there can only be one standard spawn per tick" but "there can be NO standard spawn in a tick where a NPC despawn due to inactive/death/shimmer, but the basic idea holds (if you can despawn one every tick you need to spawn one every tick and vice versa.

Also here is my remix-compatible version. since lava no longer hurt NPC i turn to shimmer for help. Note that snail is the only critter that actively transform itself immediately aftertouching shimmer, others are passively and gradually transformed by shimmer in ~1.5 seconds, so only the snail statue will work in this machine.
