From the patch notes for 1.4.0.5:

Fixed an issue where Hallow Trees on mowed Hallow grass would drop normal wood

Mowed hallow grass does not spawn prismatic lacewings, does not spawn lightning bugs, and DOES spawn fireflies. This leads me to suspect that mowed hallow grass is treated like mowed pure grass for the purposes of spawning critters.
