PS4 Multiplayer Freeze

Myself and friend playing on drunk world. I'm hosting and friend keeps freezing randomly. He is going through jungle/snow biome but it has frozen in a few other spots around the map. It just freezes and he's not losing progress like the freezes prior to the patch we're doing but we can't figure out what's causing it to happen. Both on PS5, new world, new characters, drunk seed, fully updated, October 23. I'm totally unaffected but for friend its basically unplayable do to the very consistent freezing.
 
By the way we had worlds prior to this and they worked perfectly fine after the initial crash patch and the world was doing it from the start. Haven't had the chance to try and use different character/world to see if it's still happening
